Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal in Wisbech

Roof Cleaning and Moss Removal in Wisbech

Moss looks unsightly, but it does more than spoil the look of a roof. As it builds up it holds water against the tiles, works its way under the laps and blocks the gutters, and in a hard frost that trapped water can lift and crack the tiles. At Prestige Roof we clean and de-moss roofs across Wisbech, clearing the growth, flushing the gutters and treating the surface to slow it coming back.

We are a third-generation family business based in Dersingham, near King's Lynn, and we cover Wisbech and the surrounding PE13 villages. We work across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and the East of England.

How We Clean a Roof in Wisbech

• Gentle soft-wash, not pressure washing: We never blast a roof with a high-pressure lance, which strips the surface off the tiles and does real harm. We clear moss carefully by hand and with low-pressure methods.

• Gutter and valley clearance: We clear the moss and debris out of the gutters and valleys so the roof drains properly again.

• Biocide treatment: We apply a biocide that keeps moss, algae and lichen back for far longer after the clean.

• A proper look at the roof: While we are up there we check for slipped tiles and other faults the moss may have been hiding.

Why Wisbech Roofs Grow Moss

The damp, low-lying Fenland around Wisbech is ideal for moss, and the many shaded, north-facing roofs in the town's older streets and on the estates colonise quickly. Lichen is common too, encouraged by the open, moisture-laden air that rolls in across the flat fields. A clean every few years keeps a roof draining freely and looking cared for, and lets you spot small problems before they grow.
