Chimney Re-pointing
Over time, the mortar between your bricks will naturally weather and crumble away. This process leaves gaps that allow water to seep into the stack. In winter, this water freezes and expands, cracking the brickwork and making the chimney unstable.
Re-pointing is the process of raking out the old, decayed mortar and replacing it with a fresh, strong mix. Lead Work and Flashings
The "flashing" is the skirt of lead that sits around the base of the chimney where it meets the roof tiles. It is there to stop water running down the chimney and into your loft.
Lead work is a traditional skill that requires real craftsmanship. If the lead is split or has slipped, you will almost certainly get damp patches on your ceilings. We are experts in dressing and welding lead. We can repair damaged flashings or install brand new lead aprons, back gutters, and soakers to ensure a completely watertight seal.
Capping and Venting
