We are based at Dersingham on the West Norfolk coast, so the north of Suffolk is the part of the county we know best. The Waveney valley towns around Bungay and Eye sit close to the Norfolk border and are an easy run for us, and the same is true of the coast around Lowestoft. Further south, around Ipswich and the Orwell, we are working away from our home patch rather than on the doorstep, so we are straight with people about travel and timing before anything is booked.
What the county throws at a roof
Suffolk roofs are mostly a story of clay pantile and plain tile, with soft red brick underneath and the occasional run of thatch in the villages. Inland, in the sheltered river valleys, the work tends to be about age and wear: slipped pantiles, tired mortar on ridges and hips, and Georgian parapet gutters that were never easy to maintain. On the coast it is a different job altogether, because salt and the wind off the North Sea get at fixings, flashings and anything with a nail in it. We approach the two ends of the county differently for that reason.
Specialist work further afield
Spray foam removal is the exception to all of the above. It is specialist work, most people need it because a lender or a surveyor has raised it, and there are not many roofing firms who take it on properly rather than treating it as a cleaning job. We travel further for that than we would for a repair, so if you are anywhere in Suffolk and have foam in your loft, it is worth asking.

Fast and efficient service, this must have been a one off? from quote to completion, including scaffolding 3 days. Inspection and quote on Wednesday, scaffold arrived Thursday and job started and finished on Friday. This was for new roof membrane, new battens cleaned and replaced tiles, as well as a complete new flat roof rubber covering and lagged loft as well for good measure. Left early Friday evening and apart from the skip of rubbish I would not have know they had been, all clean and tidy as promised. A big thank you to James and his crew for an excellent job.

We were very pleased with the work carried out by Prestige Roof Limited on our property In March 2026. They removed the old spray foam roof insulation, repairing timbers that had been damaged by it, retiling where needed and replacing the roof membrane and ridge tiles. They carried out this work in the time frame that they said they would. The crew was courteous and kept us informed of progress with numerous photos of the roof work, they also cleared up after themselves.
