Roofers in Eye

Local roofers in Eye

Eye is one of the smallest market towns in the country, tucked into north Suffolk just south of the Norfolk border near Diss. It is dominated by the tall flushwork tower of its medieval church, with the Norman castle mound and the timber-framed Guildhall close by, and much of the old town is listed or sits within a conservation area. Soft Suffolk brick, colourwashed render, clay pantile and the occasional run of thatch all sit side by side here, and each ages in its own way. From our base at Dersingham on the West Norfolk coast, Eye sits comfortably within our wider patch across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and the East of England.

Common roofing work in Eye

Because the town is inland and fairly sheltered, the work here is more often about age and wear than storm exposure. On the older lime-built homes we re-hang slipped clay pantiles and plain tiles with a close match, re-bed or dry-fix loosened ridges, and renew the tired lead valleys and chimney flashings that let water track a long way through an old roof before it shows. Rendered gables and mortared verges are cut out and made good, and we take a careful, like-for-like approach on listed and conservation-area property. On the newer estates around the edge of town we handle concrete tile repairs, flat roofs over extensions, full re-roofs and new uPVC soffits, fascias and guttering.
