New Roof Installations in Cromer

New Roofs and Re-Roofing in Cromer

On the cliffs of the North Norfolk coast a roof leads a hard life, and it reaches the end of its days sooner than one inland. When the sea air has worn it out and repairs no longer hold, a full replacement is the better investment. At Prestige Roof we install complete new roofs across Cromer, stripping the old covering, renewing any tired timber, fitting a breathable membrane and laying a new roof built to take the weather off the sea.

We are a third-generation family business based in Dersingham, near King's Lynn, with a showroom where you can see the materials in person. We cover Cromer and the NR27 coast, and we work across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and the East of England.

Signs You May Need a New Roof in Cromer

• Tired lead and mortar: Years of salt air leave flashings and ridge bedding beyond patching.

• Repeated storm damage: If every blow off the sea brings another repair, a robust new roof ends the cycle.

• Widespread tile failure: Slipped and cracked tiles all across the roof mean the covering is spent.

• Damp or daylight in the loft: Persistent damp upstairs is a sign the roof is no longer weathertight.

• Selling a seafront home: A sound new roof reassures buyers wary of coastal wear.

Choosing a Roof That Suits the Coast

Cromer's grand Victorian and Edwardian seafront houses were built for slate, and on these we re-roof in natural slate or clay tile, mechanically fixed so nothing lifts in the onshore wind. The newer homes set back from the cliffs suit a quality concrete interlocking tile. Every new roof gets a breathable membrane and a dry ridge and verge system, which has no mortar to crack and copes far better on this exposed coast. We also fit new roofs along the coast in nearby Sheringham.
