Roofers in Burnham Market

Local roofers in Burnham Market

Burnham Market is one of the prettiest villages on the North Norfolk coast, built around its long green and lined with handsome Georgian houses, shops and cottages. Many of its buildings are listed and much of the village is a conservation area, so roofing here is about care and matching what is already there as much as keeping the weather out. It is a pleasant drive along the coast from our base in Dersingham, and we are regularly working in and around the Burnhams.

Common roofing work in Burnham Market

The Georgian houses and flint-and-brick cottages around the green mostly carry clay pantile or natural slate, and they need a sympathetic, like-for-like approach: matched tiles and slates, re-bedded ridges, and properly dressed lead to valleys, parapets and chimneys. Close to the coast the wind and salt air wear lead and fixings faster than they would inland, so we renew flashings and carry out storm repairs. Holiday homes and newer properties bring flat roofing over extensions, chimney repairs, leak tracing and new soffits, fascias and guttering, along with full re-roofs where a roof has reached the end of its life.
